Oversize Slide to PDF

I'm trying to generate a PDF file containing a single poster-size
Powerpoint slide (44.5 inches square). I get a document that size, but
the content is clipped. By this I mean that the upper left part of the
page (a square perhaps 25x25) looks fine, but the rightmost 19.5
inches and the bottom 19.5 inches are blank.

In Powerpoint, I went into File>PageSetup and set the custom size,
which was immediately reflected in the rulers. I placed content on
different parts of the slide. Then I went into File>Print, selected
Distiller, and in its properties dialog declared the same custom size.
I proceeded to create the Postscript file and converted to PDF using
the Distiller app. No warnings or error messages along the way.

I can open the PDF in Acrobat. It reports the correct page size, but
the content is incomplete as described above.

Windows 2000
Powerpoint 2000 SR-1
Distiller 5.0.0

Explanations and suggestions please. TIA.

Acrobat often clips PPT output because it ... well, just because, and who are
we to question Adobe in these matters?

Usually, you can use the document cropping option to remove the crop. If you
don't know how to do this, let me know; please mention which version of
Acrobat you use.
