It shut-down last night, today after bootup -- it's fine.

I think/thought I had my XP Pro running smooth but last night -- something
happened and I would like to know what to fix. It's fine right now after a
boot up.

I have my PC set for AVG update and scanning at 2-3am so something might
have happened there but can't tell.

Hi,

It's rather hard to determine problem with this description.

Sometimes can occur problem with an files from Temporary Internet Files or
TEMP folder. Try remove contents of those folders. You can also check disk
by chkdsk and try to scan manually Documents and Settings folder.

You'll have to tell us what the problem was; we're not psychic. All
you've said is you had a problem, shutdown and restarted the computer,
and now the problem is gone. What was the problem that prompted you to
reboot the PC?

What specific error messages did you get? What do your system event
logs report? What specific troubleshooting steps have you already
taken, and what were the results of each?

I'm afraid that no one can help if you don't provide at least a
modicum of pertinent information.

Are you using Automatic Updates and does it run at that hour? It could have
been the updates doing a reboot.
