Over wrote my user IDs and lost the old files

I installed XP again on C:/windows1 as the old XP would not boot. I created
new used IDs which overwrote the old user IDs. I no longer can see the user
files associated with the old IDs. Any idea? I miss the photos.
 
Yes, you've lost them and unless you have a backup so you can reload the
system as it was, before you did that, or you created a recovery floppy,
they're all gone forever.
 
Well I did not give up. I went and bout a file recovery program for $9.99 by
XStomp, I cannot remember exactly. I did a sector scan and the user files
showed up. My wife is not quite so mad anymore. Appreciate the answer back.
