Output to a TV

S

Steve Jussif

Hi,

I recently tried to output my desktop video to a TV. Here's what I did.

I connected an S-Video cable from my laptop to an RCA video input jack
on the TV. When doing so it recognized the background of my laptop. Futher
checking I realized that I "extended" my desktop not emulated my desktop. In
other words if I moved the mouse it would go from my laptop screen to the
TV.

That's not what I want to do. I want to have the TV show the exact image
that's on my laptop, not extend it.

Is there a setting that I'm missing? Is this possible in Windows XP or
do I need third party software?

Thanks
Steve

Go into your video settings and uncheck the "Exten my desktop..." checkbox.
Your laptop should have a key combination using the "Fn" key that will
switch between "LCD", "CRT", and "LCD/CRT". On my Toshiba, it's FN-F5.
Consult the manual for your laptop.
