Outlook2003 Number of Messages received

E

Eric B.

Hi,

I finally decided to take the plunge after years of procrastination and
migrate from Outlook Express to Outlook, but am finding some things lacking
in Outlook 2003. My biggest issue at the current moment is seeing the tally
of number of messages received in the Send/Receive email window.

In Outlook Express, I'd see "receiving message 1 of 2, 2 of 2" and so on in
the send/receive window" and by keeping the Send/Receive window "pinned",
I'd be able to see exactly how many messages were sent or received after it
was finished (ie: I could step away from the PC and come back and see what
had happened). In Outlook, all I get in the Send/Receive window is either a
progress bar or a status "Completed". Is there any way to find out how many
emails were received per account?

I found something on slipstick mentioning this issue for Outlook98 or 2000
needing to be in IMO mode, but can't seem to find any solution for Outlook
2003.

Does anybody know if there is a feature or a plugin or something I can add
to Outlook 2003 to enable this type of summary?

Thanks!

Eric

In Outlook's "Progress" box, there is a button named "Details." Click it,
and at the bottom of the menu you will see "Receiving 1 of 10, Sending 2 of
3," etc. Once you click it, it continues functioning until you deselect it
by clicking again. However, it disappears after all mail is sent and/or
received.
