Hi,
I have outlook 2002 on my computer and want to upgrade to outlook vista. I
need to know if information in my local folders/ inbox contacts etc will be
lost? I tried backing up pst but when clicked it translates into a giant 3gig
email attachment and so of course wont open...Anyway if all will remail
intact I will go ahead as I have the whole vista suite but am afraid to
install it!!

Depends on how you install Vista. Personally, I think it best to back up
your entire hard drive, reformat, and install clean.

If you're getting a mail message out of the process, clearly you are not
backing up. Backups never create mail messages or attachments. Here's how
to back up Outlook:

Hi,
I backed up, renamed and it still opened so I did a search and I have 7
outlook folders.....holding from just under a gig to a gig and1/2 I have no
way of sorting out which one outlook is using currently so that I can delete
the rest of them. Please help!!! There is also a4.5 gig folder for outlook
express which I never use??

You do have a way. In Control Panel, run the Mail applet and click the Data
Files button. That will show you the data files you are using.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your help, my 2007 is up and running with folders intact.... my
pst is moved to my documents with no issues. I was missing the MSN/Hotmail
but went out, came back after upgrades were installed and they were there

Thanks
