Outlook2002--Can't Select Names For Email Messages

I imported a list of names, addresses, etc. into Contacts using Outlook's
Import Wizzard. All of the names and other information displays correctly
in the Contacts window.

However, when I try to select an address via the dialogue that opens after
clicking To: or cc: button on the New Message screen, the only thing that
appears in the message is a semi-colon.

I created one entry in Contacts manually. I can select that one without
problems.
