Outlook is changeing the file extension of incoming and
outgoing attachment files to txt files, e.g. abcd.doc
becomes adcd.txt or 1234.xls becomes 1234.txt making it
very difficult to open.

Why is it doing this and how can I stop it happening?

version OL97
version OL2000
etc., etc
