My outlook will receive messages, but will not receive. Any suggestions
would be very helpful. Please answer here, but copy to (e-mail address removed)
as well. I am new to this and am having trouble finding responses to my
questions.

Thanks, Sonny

So what is the error message when a send fails?

Nope. That's an old ploy by spammers to get users to divulge their
true e-mail address and do so voluntarily. Replies to newsgroups
should always go to newsgroups unless security issues are involved. If
you have the time to post here then you have the time to return here to
check for replies.

Give up trying to use Microsoft's webnews-for-dummies gateway to Usenet
so they can pretend they have forums. Instead use a newsreader, like
Outlook Express, Thunderbird, or another choice, and connect to an NNTP
server that includes the microsoft.public.* groups (if your ISP doesn't
give you newsgroups access, you can connect to Microsoft's free NNTP
server at msnews.microsoft.com).

You make no mention to the version of Outlook that you use, the version
of Windows under which Outlook runs, what type of e-mail account to
which Outlook connects, or anything about what the error message says.
Just what was anyone to use in troubleshooting your problem?

--- Posting Hints ---

ALWAYS REVIEW your message before submitting it. You want someone OTHER
than yourself to understand your post. Also remember that no one here
is looking over your shoulder to see at what you are pointing.

Often you get just one chance per potential respondent to elicit a reply
from them. If they skip your post because you gave them nothing to go
on (no details, no versions, no OS, no context) then they will usually
move on to the next post and never return to yours.

What is Usenet:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsgroups
http://www.masonicinfo.com/newsgroups.htm
http://www.mcfedries.com/Ramblings/usenet-primer.asp
If you use a webnews client, like Microsoft's Communities or Google
Groups, those are gateways to Usenet.

How to post to newsgroups:

Regarding error messages:
- Do NOT describe an error message.
- Do NOT summarize an error message.
- Do NOT paraphrase an error message.
- Do NOT truncate an error message.
- Do show the ENTIRE message (but munge/star out personal info,
like your username).

Correction... it will receive but not send.

And exactly what happens when yoiu try? What version of Outlook? What type
of account?

Ask here, get an answer here. It is rarely a good idea to post a real address
in a newsgroup.

You didn't supply any additiuonal information. Without a complete description
of all the symptoms (exact text of all errors, Outlook version, account type,
what exactly you're doing when the problem occurs, etc.) there's no way we can
help.

Brain... sorry about that. I must have missed the notice of answer. I just
closed my OE and opened the Outlook 2007. I sent a test email from another
address and as in the past, I received it. But when I attempt to send, it
simply indicates it is processing the send, but then the dialogue box
disappears. I can do this over and over and occasionally it incicates
"error". But when I can (which is rare) I can get it to sit still long
enough to click on it, it does not elaborate. It just simply does not send
and the message sets in the out box.

Any suggestions would be helpful. While OE is fine, I do prefer Outlook 2007.

Thanks, Sonny

First, double-check your account server/port settings. When you click the
"Test" button in the account properties, do all tests succeed?

Second, if you have your antivirus program configured to scan e-mail,
uninstall it and reinstall it without the mail scanning feature. Does that
change anything?
