Outlook XP requiring OE Identity

I am running Windows XP and have Outlook Express 6 and just upgrade from
Office 2000 to Office XP. I use Outlook for my work e-mail, and I use OE to
check my personal Hotmail account. I have OE set up with an Identity that
requires a password since it is my personal stuff. Now for my problem. Since
upgrading to Office XP, whenever I open Outlook, it opens the same Identiy
Login dialog box that OE uses. I need to hit the Cancel button or the X
(Close) button in the upper right corner. It is not that big of a deal, but
it is rather annoying. Any ideas on why this is happening and how I can stop
it?

On a side note, when I upgraded to Office XP, Outlook did not transfer my
e-mail account from my older version. I had to set it up all over again,
which seemed rather odd. All my e-mails and contacts were intact, though.

I'm going by memory here, but in Outlook under Tools-->Options-->Other...
Is there a box selected that wants to know your messenger login to show
online status?

No, there are no options like that available. Under
Tools-->Options-->Other there is:

General - for Emptying deleted items upon exiting and making Outlook
the default program.

AutoArchive

Preview Pane

Instant Messaging

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Instant Messaging

And have you disabled this?

Sorry it took so long to respond. I have been out of town.

Anyhow, yes, I did disable Instant Messaging. It hasn't changed anything. It
still opens up the Identity Login dialog box in Outlook XP.
