Outlook XP PST Migration to Outlook 2003 Beta

Adding XP pst files to Outlook 2003 Beta doesn't work from
any of the menu paths: File Open, File Import or Data
Management Add. They act more like File New with a empty
main folder named ofer the import pst file and two empty
sub-folders: Deleted Items and Search Folders. Is this
functionally not complete?

If you're experiencing this with several files, perhaps the problem is the underlying disk. Try alternating Scandisk.exe (or another disk utility) with Scanpst.exe.

Outlook 2003 can open any PST file. Outlook 2002 and earlier versions
cannot open a Unicode-compatible file created with Outlook 2003.

How do we save a .pst file in Outlook97-2002 format from within Outlook2003?

You cannot convert an existing file from one type to another. If you have data in a Unicode-compatible PST file and want to get it into the older file type, you can add a new PST file to the profile (File | New | Outlook Data File) then copy or move items into it. I haven't checked what file type the export feature creates -- it might be Unicode by default -- but that would also be worth trying.
