Outlook XP: Autogenerates a "not read" on receipts

I have a spammer using "Disposition-Notification-To" and
"Return-Receipt-To:" in their spam. Because I have receipts disabled, it
still sends them a "Not Read" email. Is there anyway to disable this sending
of a not read email? My Outlook is updated.

What version of Outlook do you have? Are you deleting the messages by
emptying your Deleted Items with the messages in question unread? If so,
and if you have Outlook 2002, there is a bug (to be fixed in SP-3) that the
receipts are sent for any unread messages when you empty Deleted Items,
regardless of your setting. A workaround until SP-3 ships is to go to
deleted items, select all the messages (Ctrl-A), mark them as read (Ctrl-Q),
then empty Deleted Items. A read-receipt won't be sent in that case.
