outlook word macro conflict

I have macros set up in word that will run under certain circumstances.
These circumstances being if you open word before outlook. If you do this
the macros will run fine, but if you open outlook first the macros will not
run and i recieve an error: "run time error 4605 - the EditDataSource method
or property is not available because the document is not a mail merge main
document". I find this very weird myself and i was wondering if anyone could
help me find out whats wrong. Thanks in advance.

It appears that you have some form of auto macro in normal.dot. It would
probably be better if you added this code to a separate template that uses
it, but as you have given no indication of what the code does (something to
do with mail merge?) it is difficult to be specific.
Alternatively do not use Word as Outlook's e-mail editor.
