Outlook / Word Crashes when replying to chain of AOL emails

Outlook consistently crashes when using Word as the default e-mail editor
when replying to an e-mail from an AOL user. It generally happens during the
3rd or 4th reply to the same conversation. Consistently.

Actually, it's Word that crashes, Outlook and the PC just lock up for a few
seconds, and Word crashes.

I'm using Word and Outlook 2003.

I don't want to not use Word as my editor and I don't want to always use
plain text.

Is there a fix?

Use Outlook editor instead. Set it for HTML by selecting Tools, Options, Mail
Format, select Html from the Compose in this format box.

We're also having this same problem. It only happens when our users
reply to a message from an AOL user. I looked at the code in these
messages and there are a ton of AOL-specific tags in them. This seems
to have something to do with it. Has anybody found a way to get the
Word Editor fixed? We have a lot of users that prefer the Word Editor
over the regular Outlook Editor.
