Outlook won't access my hotmail account

Hi all. My problem is that outlook will not access my
hotmail account. I have several users set up on our home
XP system. I restored XP on a new drive. I successfully
setup my wife's outlook account and it finds her hotmail
account just fine. So I know how to do it. Admittedly,
her account started "fresh" without restoring any old
email. On mine, I had to restore my old emails and it
told me the file locations had changed or something to
that effect. Now, it absolutely will not access my
hotmail. Keeps saying to enter my username and password,
then won't access it, keeps coming back to an endless
cycle of asking for my username and password. What did I
do wrong??? How can I fix this??? Any help will truly be
appreciated. Thanks, Russ Larkin (e-mail address removed)

I have seen this when a pre-exising profile was on the
machine when you performed the upgrade. I believe that
the XP registry wants you to use the PST that is created in a
"hidden" location. However your existing profile was using
a PST that is located somewhere else. (confusing?)

To work around this behavior, manually create a profile
for Outlook 2002. To do this:
Close Outlook 2002.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Mail.
Click Show Profiles, click Add, name the profile, and then
click OK.
Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
Click a type of account, and then click Next.
In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, enter the necessary
information, and then click Next.
Click Finish.
If the Always use this profile option is selected, select the
profile that you just created, and then click OK.

Let me know if this helps.

This didn't help Nikki.
My son and I tried setting up different profiles in
outlook trying to access his email in yahoo or my wife's
in hotmail. It will NOT access any of them.
Any more ideas? thanks for trying, Russ
