I'm currently having a strange issue with Outlook. I have Office 2003
with service pack two. Right now, I'm having trouble having Microsoft
Word 2003 to open up when I select to write a new message. I get a
little pop-up saying "Starting Microsoft Office Word 2003 as your
e-mail editor", but I still get the normal Outlook editor that opens. I
even have Word selected to edit messages in my options. The only thing
I can think about is to uninstall Office altogether and re-install it.
Is there a way around this? Can I at least uninstall Word by itself and
re-install it to fix things? I have too many messages to backup in
Outlook and it will be too time consuming for me to do that.

Uninstalling and reinstalling seldom solves any problem. You might want to
choose Detect and Repair from the Help drop down menu for both Word and
Outlook. Have your installation CD handy. No files will be lost...
