Outlook will not shutdown

For whatever reason, I have an installation of Office 2000
where Outlook will not shutdown after hours of use and by
closing using the X button at the upper-right corner of
the window. I had already reinstalled after a complete
uninstall of the entire Office suite.

Any suggestions?

some folks have had good results using this OL addin

it didn't work for me but it might for you. i'm not affiliated with
the author.
