Outlook will not let me delete any messages.

Outlook will not let me delete any messages. I have
4 .pst files that are about a gig a piece. Whenever I try
to delete them i get the message - The messaging
interface has returned an ukown error. If the problem
persists, restart outlook.
And also I receive this message when trying to start
outlook - Outlook could not start because a location to
send and receive mail could not be found. To add a
location, such as a personal folder file, double - click
the mail icon in Windows Control Panel.

Start Outlook from the Run command by;
"path to outlook.exe" /resetfolders

Nope, it restores missing folders but backing up your pst-file will never
hurt.
