Outlook will not alow me to insert any file etc into a new message

After clicking on the insert file icon it opens in my documents and thats it.
Control alt delete and the display says program not responding and hangs
there ? Thanks for your assistance with this problem.

I have this problem too. As soon as I click on the paper clip, My Documents
opens but freezes, only showing some of the files, and when I try to click
out, I get the not responding message. Funny thing is if I take one (any one)
of the folders out of my documents in explorer and go back to Outlook and try
to attach, it works! If I put that folder back, it freezes again. Any help?

I am also having this proble, I am using Outlook 2003 and it appears that it
is because I have the attach window file display set to thumbnails instead of
list or detail as it just started happening when I did this to find a
picture. I can't seem to find anyway to turn that thumbnail (as the default)
off without trying to go into the attach files again and it just hangs and
won't let me close it, I have to abort outlook in the task manager.
