Outlook un-queues in Outbox

In either Outlook 2002 or 2003, after I've composed emails and they've been
queued up in the Outbox for sending, I sometimes need to check on what's
queued up in the Outbox. Clicking on Outbox takes me there just fine, but
then the first queued message not only gets highlighted but also gets
un-queued. (You can tell by the fact that all the other emails identifiers
are in italics, while the selected one is not.) So then this now un-queued
email doesn't go out of the Outbox when the rest are sent. I have to first
open it up, then get out of Outbox, and then re-Send the email message, which
re-queues it for the next Send and Receive occurrence --unless I check what's
in the Outbox again!

After checking the message in Outbox you must press Send again. Sometimes
that doesn't work and you must move the message to a diff folder and resend.
Also, messages that are still highlighted in the Outbox will not send.
