Outlook Today Page View

Is there anyway to change the appearance of the Outlook Today Page other than
the Summer and Winter styles and the various layouts presented under the
customize option? There's just no creativity there. I know it will probably
have something to do with CSS and maybe a tweak to the registry. Any
knowlegable geek out there?

Thanks Bill, I tried to follow the registry tweaks to the hilt. I have
never had any real errors with doing that and have a relatively average to
above I guess doing it. However, when I followed the plan it did not work.
Got serveral different error codes about not being able to show the folder.
There is a Url and CustomUrl issue. When I opened the Registry and found
CustomUrl = outlook4.htm I understand that. I could change it right there
and get the change in the view of the Today page. Then I tried like
"Res://C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office11\1033/OUTLWVW.DLL\SEAMARBL.HTM" replacing outlook4.htm and it
wouldn't work. Both the dll file and seamarbl files were present in folder
1033 So I'll let it ride for now. Thanks for the MS page.

The seamarbl.htm file must be INSIDE the outlwvw.dll file in order for that
home page to make any sense. Did you create your own outlwvw.dll?
Moreover, your URL above is incorrect. It would be
res://C:\Program%20Files\Microsoft%20Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/seamarbl.htm
if, indeed, the seamarbl.htm file was contained in outlwvw.dll. You can see
how this works for yourself. Past the following into the address bar of IE:

res://C:\Program%20Files\Microsoft%20Office\OFFICE11\1033\outlwvw.dll/outlook4.htm

You should see the "Winter" theme for Outlook Today in your web browser (but
blank, of course).

Brain, I understand. I was assuming you could change styles for the
background of that today page with an htm file you wanted. I got that from
this pasted in a MS Word file to customize called OutToday.doc

background of that today page with an htm file you wanted. I got
that from this pasted in a MS Word file to customize called
OutToday.doc

The section "How to Publish Outlook Today in a DLL File" in that document
should tell yo how to create your own DLL.
