I have no more Outlook Today (in Outlook 2000). Opening screen in main pane for Outlook is now just blank, there's no more Outlook Today shortcut in the lefthand bar-- and if I select "Go To" Outlook Today from the View menu, nothing happens.
This problem dates from just before I left on vacation about 3 weeks ago. Just before I left I made 2 changes affecting Outlook:
1) ran the shareware "Outlook Duplicates Remover 5" (written by Fr Simon Rundell of Southsea, UK) to get rid of hundreds of duplicate contacts that occurred after syncing my Pocket PC PDA.
2) removed Internet Explorer "Critical Update 824145" as it changed how the scroll bar works in both IE and Outlook. While this was an update for IE, the fact that it caused the same scroll bar problem (jumping 2 pages instead of one) in Outlook makes me wonder if removing it might have unintended effects on Outlook as well. But I think the Duplicates Remover is the main suspect.
I could just go back to the copy I made of my .pst files before I used the Duplicates Remover-- but I'm concerned that this could make me lose 3 weeks of e-mail. (Calendar & Contacts are less of a problem, I could re-enter the newer items in those 2 areas by hand.) I was going to just ignore the problem, but now have a new PDA that will sync differently from my old one, so I figure I should fix this bug in my Outlook before I begin syncing the new device....
Any suggestions how I can get back my "Outlook Today"?
Thanks!
