Outlook templates folder

I created a template in Outlook using the following procedure:

Ctl-N to create new message

place text in subject and body

select File | Save As...

select Save As Type: Outlook Template (.oft)

select following path (same path as where two existing templates are
stored):
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

select Save

If I use file manager to view the contents of this folder, this new template
now appears along-side of the original two templates (which I don't recall
how I created or stored there). In Outlook, in the Folder List, the new
template does NOT appear. Re-starting Outlook does not make a difference.

What am I doing wrong?

Thx

Navigation pane - Personal Folders - Templates

Well, isn't that interesting - now they are all gone. I did edit the
others, then did Save As... and saved them over the original as per the
method below.

How are you getting to "folder list" ?

BTW - you can make a templates folder in Outlook and droop the template in
it - much easier to access but you do need to save it to the windows file
system first.

What version of outlook? Assuming the use of "Navigation pane" means Outlook
2003, Templates won't be in the personal Outlook folders or the folder list
unless you drag and drop them to it.
