Outlook subject line missing first letter

When I send e-mails in Outlook, the first letter of the subject line
disappears. This problem may have started when I installed Norton
SystemWorks. Ideas on how to fix (other than uninstalling Norton)?

disable email scanning by system works. it's redundant and totally
unnecessary.
