I have been experiencing several problems with Outlook 2000 ( Service Pack
3) which to seem related. We use an ISP POP3 server for our e-mail, we do
not use an Exchange server. All client PCs are Win 2k Pro. Also we use
Symantec Client Security 2.0
1. Sometimes when Outlook is started it will not pull down any of the new
mail messages from the POP 3 mail server. Sometime I must restart Outlook 3
or 4 times before it will sync up. This has happened with different ISP POP
3 servers which would indicate that the problem is with Outlook.
2. Sometimes Outlook will just stop receiving mail. Using the Send/Receive
button does not help, it acts as if Outlook can not see any un-retrieved mail
at the server
No error messages are displayed, no error messages in the event logs. This
is creating problems due to the fact that we use e-mails to update selling
and buying prices which change constantly.
