Outlook still wraps text mails breaking URLs even after Office SP3

Whatever settings I configure, OL 2002 still keeps wrapping plain text
mails at 72 characters when sending to internet recipients, which is a
real pain when it breaks URLs across two lines

I've applied Office XP SP3 which supposedly has a fix for:

"Automatically wrap text at option may not work in Outlook 2002"

However it still breaks URLs at 72 chars if I set it to 132 chars
(maximum).

Any ideas when MS is going to fix this rather basic but very annoying
problem?
 
Are you sure the problem is with Outlook and not your mailserver?
