Outlook Status Bar

Hello, I'm new round here and would like to ask two questions:

1. Is it possible to get at the Statusbar of the main Outlook window
from VBA? I would like to use it to show the status of a running
macro.

2. I read that the best way to share my macro and its associated
toolbar button with my colleagues is using COM. Can I create a COM
component in any of the office VBA development enviroments which is
all I have available here?

2. You would need Office Developer to develop a COM addin or some version of
Visual Studio or Delphi or some other high level language. See
