Outlook spell checking fails

Recently I've been getting this message when Sending an Outlook email:

"Error occured while checking spelling"

What's the fix for this?

More info would be helpful. In most versions Outlook depends on Word and
other Office programs for spell checking and versions must match.

I'm using Office XP Pro. Both Word and Outlook are 2002, SP3. Been
using this for years.
