I and some others on our network are receiving spam emails that show our name
in the from and the to box. When I try to add it to blocked sender, it says
it is from within and cannot be blocked. These messages are coming from many
different sites. I have done numerous virus sweeps and all show clean. What
is causing this.

This is very common. Spammers use legit addresses. Nothing you can do about
it.

this type of spam is best dealt with at the server level, something that
looks at the server address, rather than the FROM address, which is a text
field that can be anything the spammer wants.

We had the smae problem, and fixed a lot of it as follows:
do not add your domain name as a safe sender, and add your IP address of
your server as the safe sender.
Then your spam filtering will search through the supposedly in-house ones
and filter them to junk if appropriate.
