After upgrading from Office 2000 to Office XP outlook is
slow to open or preview messages. There is about a 3-5
second delay when switching between emails and/or
folders. We are still using exchange 5.5, but I don't
see any info regarding problems with outlook 2002 and
Exchange 5.5. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try turning off the "Instant Messaging"

Open the TOOLS menu
Select OPTIONS...
Select the OTHER tab

Turn off the check mark next to "Enable Instant Messaging
on Microsoft Outlook".

Turning off instant messaging worked great for me - I was
getting the same "slow to read messages" problem. Looks
like it started happening after I upgraded MSN Messenger
to v 6 the other week.

Thanks Nikki
