Outlook shuts down when I tried to load

I could not get MS Outlook to start. When I start the program, it just shut
itself down saying that it encountered a problem. I am running Vista,
Outlook 2002, and Kaspersky 6.0 with Vista patch.

Anyone know how I can resolve this issue

Has it always done this or is this new behaviour? When was the last time it
worked?

Start with a new mail profile and run the Inbox Repair Tool on your PST.
