Outlook shuts down instead of minimizes

When I click the minimize icon on Outlook, the program shuts down instead of
minimizing. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem?
 
It might not be shutting down. There 's a setting to hide when minimized.
Check it out by opening OL and right clicking on the icon in the Notification
area on the bottom right side of taskbar. See if Hide when minimized is
checked.
