Outlook should EASILY let you sort your inbox by bringing UNREAD messages to
the top. I use sort all the time for SIZE, FROM, and SUBJECT. I have over
1000 emails in my inbox. On busy days I ignore many that I know are
unimportant, but in my free time I want to quickly read & delete those I have
not seen. There is not an easy way to do this (that I have found) other than
paging through all 1000 emails and clicking on the BOLD ones.

In OL2003 there's Search Folders which scour your entire message store (PST
or Exchange mailbox) and display messages that fit a criteria. One of the
default ones is an Unread Messages folder which puts all unread messages in
one easy to find place no matter where they really exist.
