Outlook should always highlight today's date

I live by my Outlook calendar, both for work and for home use. I find it
really irritating, though, that I have to click in the calendar and then
click on the "Today" button just to figure out what today is! Then, as soon
as I scroll, that marking of today's date moves anyway. I was surprised to
find there was no way to customize this. What I'd like: some special
background color (preferable customizable) for today's date in every calendar
view, even the one for a single day so I can tell at a glance which day is
"today".

I cannot reproduce this annoyance using Outlook 2003. What version of
Outlook are you using and what is your default view?
