Outlook should allow me to import .mbox file from mac mail

Is there any way you could import the .mbox file format from the mail program
in Mac OS X to Outlook (in PC NOT in Office for Mac). Of course Microsoft
Entourage X for Mac enables to import .mbox files to Entourage.

A friend of mine who has been using Apple iMac is shifting to a PC with
Windows XP. There is no option under Outlook 2003 to import .mbox files. I
went through the agony of forwarding 1430 important emails last year, when I
changed from iMac to PC. Is there already an option that we have missed? If
not will Microsoft do something about this please?

The best way that I know of is to use Eudora. Rename your .mbox files to .mbx
and import them into Eudora. After which you will have to open eudora and
probably fix the folder names, the email should be intact though. Once you
have it straight in Eudora you can get into Outlook and tell it to import
your mail from Eudora.
