Outlook Rules and OFT templates

HI all,
I am trying to get some rules to work since our mail services team has turn
off the port to allow out-of-office rules to respond to outside email.

I created client only based rules that stated that a rule from a specific
email address will respond with this specific template. When I test this
rule, an INBOX0xx oft file is created for each response. Is there a reason
this is happening or did I need to do something different with the rule?

I also set-up a second rule that states that anything coming into this
machine will get responded with this specific template. The same thing
happens here.

It is my understanding that client based rules will only respond to the same
email address once a day upon login. If the outlook mailbox is not logged off
at least once a day, it will not respond.

Any thoughts on how to get past or fix these issues?

Thanks for your help.

The "respond with specific template" action requires an .oft file. Where is
the template stored that the rule uses? And where are the extra .oft files
being created.

The respond-once limit is necessary to prevent mail storms. If you want
other behavior, you'll have to move away from rules into VBA or add-in code.
