Outlook rule exception for contacts

Outlook rule created as follows...

IF Subject contains "xxx"
mark as read
delete message
Except if sender is in Contacts List

however, email from people in the contact list is still being deleted. What
is the trigger that Outlook uses in the contact info. I would think it is
the email address, rather than the display or name field.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. It is a pain finding mail from my
contacts that is being deleted (or moved to my junk folder)

Cheers!

Pyroguy99,
Add the follow action to the Rule, "Stop Processing More Rules". In addition
"Move" this rule in the Rule's List above all the Rules that contain a "
Subject" condition.

Thanks Rich - great info. For anyone else who reads this thread, I did a
slight modification to Rich's suggestion which seems to be working (time will
tell) - since I have several rules. I just made a 'first rule' as follows...

if SENDER is in CONTACTS address book, stop processing. It was easier than
applying to every rule - as suggested by Rich - but he set me on the right
track!

Thanks!
