Any answers yet?

My configuration has been operational for over a year. Suddenly Outlook
reports error 0x80040126. Has Microsoft indicated a problem on their end?
Are Outlook users being forced to alter their configuration some how? Sure
would be nice to access my paid e-mail account...

I'm posting this same message in a few threads so the word gets out...read
below

I just got off the phone with Outlook Tech Support. Apparently the MSN
servers have been having some issues for the past couple of days. It only
affects certain accounts (but I did not understand why). Anyways, the long
and short of it is...You may be able to fix it right now or it may take an
additional 24 hours to resolve, she said it's hit and miss. In either case,
here is what Tech support said you need to do:
1. Remove your msn connector under add & remove programs in the control panel.
2. Staying in add or remove programs click on MSN and change/remove and
re-download the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector.
3. In outlook, remove your e-mail account and then re-add it.

On mine it did sink all my e-mails into outlook initially but still won't
receive any new e-mails. If it does not work we are supposed to try again in
24 hours. The upside (if there is one) is that they are aware of the issue!

Good luck to all.

I just finish a chat with a MSN tech guy (annoyingly chat with
technical support wasn't an option on the MSN support page, so I did
Customer Service who quickly handed me off to a tech support guy).

Here's the relevant part of the conversation (Bryan was the tech
support):-

As expected, there's an ongoing maintenance on the servers, William.
This maintenance primarily impacts the use of your Outlook Connector.
The maintenance post was updated straight from Redmond and it's still
ongoing until now, 10/13/2006.

This is a known issue and the Operations Team is currently
investigating the issue.

Any idea of when it will be resolved
11:19:13 AM Bryan
This is for the sole purpose of improving the service.

The timeframe is not indicated on the posting, William. However, I'll
take notes here that you were affected by this maintenance.

Thank you

Should the issue persist within 24 to 48 hours, please contact us back
and ask for an E-mail Resolution Specialist for a possible workaround.
11:20:33 AM Bryan
Please accept my apologies though for not being able to assist you
fully.

I hope that helps the rest of you suffering from this issue.
