Outlook Reminders

Joe Mulvihill

I am having problems with Outlook reminders not firing. I
have tried the /cleanreminders switch, but they still do
not display. I am running Outlook 2002 with the latest
SP3.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No luck on the /resetfolders switch either. I have
verified that the reminder checkbox is checked on the test
calendar item, and looked everywhere I can think of to
insure that somehow reminders have not been turned off.
Still no luck. I sync with Pocket Outlook on an IPaq, and
those reminders fire just fine.

I am stumped .....

Thanks for the suggestion!

I seem to have found something that has kick-started the
reminders, and they are now firing. I tried all of the
command line switches with no luck. Now here comes the
wierd part. I went into an expired calendar item, and
reset the 15 minute reminder checkbox. When I saved the
item, the reminder immediately fired and showed the 3 hour
overdue appointment. I then tried to create a few new
calendar items, and they also fired as expected. I have
tried shutting down Outlook and starting it back up, and
they still seem to fire OK. Again, I have NO idea why
this made things start working..... If anyone has an
explaination, please advise. If things quit working, I
will repost.

Had those items been synched? Some synch software corrupts reminders in
Outlook.

I had your same issue and followed your postings and got the exact same results. Wierd stuff. I don't know why the reminders would start to work again after resetting the expired ones

Well, my reminders are ot working again ..... Tried my
jump start I previously posted, but it did not work. It
is very strange, as I will get notification of calendar
items hours/days after they due, but the reminder did not
fire at the event time (@ 15 minutes or whatever prior to
the scheduled appointment.

Yes, I am using ActiveSync 3.7.1, but I am not syncing at
the present time. Trying to get this stuff worked out
first. This happens with new appointments that are
unsynced as well as with old appointments that have been
synced.

This is getting very painful ...... I have
tried /cleanreminders and /resetfolders with no luck.
Cannot find anything turned off in the menus or options.

Help me OB1, you are my only hope ........

Thanks all!
