outlook reminder

I have Outlook XP with very large number of important reminders! The problem
is that the program always reminds me about an important event only when i
open it! I would like to know is there any way to make Outlook remind me
about sth. when i enter Windows (without entering Outlook)!

No. Outlook must be active in order to work.

There are third party programs that will keep a stub of Outlook open in the
background in order to pop up reminders, new mail notifications, etc. See

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
