Outlook PST Path

If I create a PST file on a network drive letter, the path automatically
converts to the UNC. For example, I if create a PST on
x:\folder\personal.pst, Outlook will convert this to
\\servername\sharename\folder\personal.pst in the PST properties.

Is there anyway to preserve the drive letter only in the path and NOT have
Outlook use the UNC?

no. BTW, pst are not supported on network drives and their usage may result
in data loss.
