"Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file"

Switched on the PC today and it randomly decided to run checkdisk.
Since then, Outlook is saying my PST is not a valid personal folders file
and it's also listed as being 0KB.
Is the 0KB normal? Is there any way of getting back the old emails as I was
stupid enough not to do regular backups?
Have tried system restore but no effect on the PST :(

Outlook comes with a PST repair utility Scanpst.Exe. Once you
locate your .Pst files copy them to a safe location and then run the
utility. However, if the file size is reported as 0 Kilobytes then it's
unlikely you'll recover data.

Hi:

Sometime, the initial .pst file name will be changed when Outlook created a
new one for various reasons. Also pst files will be stored under user
account folders, so it is highly likely that there are several pst files in
your system.

So, you may wish to use previous suggestion to search ".pst" files in you
system first to see how many and where are they.

In addition to file size, you may also want to take a look of the date of
the file created or modified, to determine which one is likely the current
one to be used, if there are several.

Good luck and hope this will help.
