"outlook.pst could not be opened"

My outlook 2003 now refuses to open with the above error message. I can
create other profiles & open backup pst files no probs.

My main outlook.pst file is only 45Mbs. and is located in the correct
place. I can view it's attributes but can't change them. Just selecting it
in explorer takes a while. When trying to copy/delete/rename it, the error
message says:

Cannot copy/delete/rename outlook: Error performing inpage operation.

Any thoughts please?
Chris.

Run scandisk on that drive and then scanpst.exe against the pst-file. See if
you can open it now.

Tried following someones advice of running chkdsk /r from the win2K
recovery console. Now outlook.pst, all 45mbs, has disappeared completely!!
Great..........

Tried running scanpst.exe (not after scandisk though) but it could do
nothing with the file.

Thanks anyway.

Chris.

This must have been a corruption on your filesystem or disk then. If you
have a SMART harddrive you can view the health of your disk and find out
whether it need replacement.
