Outlook Personal Folder Error Message

I have a number of Personal Folders where I store all of my messages that I
receive or send. Sometimes I am unable to expand these folders - the
following error message occurs:

Unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened. The
server is not available. Contact your administrator.

I am connected to the network, and am able to expand some of my personal
folders.
 
If these pst's are stored on the network, such a cofigeration is not
supported by MS as it can lead to corruption of the pst
 
These .pst's are saved on my PC - I use these so that I do not go over my
mailbox disk allowance on the network.
 
It's hard to say what is going on without any configuration information.
Sounds like you are using an Exchange account though. Scan your ost-file for
issues with scanost.exe or recreate it.
