outlook personal folder backup tool

I used the outlook personal folder backup tool to backup my email. When I put
in a new hard drive and restored the backup I got two copies of each folder,
that is, Personal Folders is listed twice. Both point to the same file so if
I delete anything in one, it is gone from both. This wouldn't be so bad
except having two of every file name causes all my rules to fail and I cannot
access my contacts except by directly clicking on one of the folders. Is
there any way I can fix this? Thanks.

How did you migrate your data from the old hard drive? Did you just copy
the .pst file to the default location and overwrite the new .pst file that
was created? If yes, you corrupted your profile.

Create a new mail profile under Control Panel->Mail Icon->Profiles->New. If
these directions don't work with your version of Outlook, then post your
version in the first post to save everyone time and effort.
