Outlook opens but when I click inbox or calendar it crashes.

Outlook is full screen when I click it. As soon as I click Inbox or Calendar
etc. it crashes. The next time I click Outlook I get a message that Outlook
didn't close properly the last time and it runs through a cycle.

What should I do? I don't want to lose my contacts or emails - which I
assume would happen if I reinstall????
 
Do you get any error messages or numbers? What version of Outlook do you use?
Do you connect to an Exchange server or have a POP3 account? Do you use a
PST? What size is it?
