Clicking on Link to contacts or Link to calendar from sharepoint causes
outlook to crash with "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" Upon further diagnostics,
the following has facts have been gathered

Machine with the problem
. Outlook version 2003 (11.8010.6568) SP2
. Sharepoint site is not digitally signed
. Crash can be caused via the following
. Linking to contacts
. From both ie7 and firefox
. Linking to calendar
. From both ie7 and firefox
. Clicking on the created shared contacts or calendar after outlook
restarts
. Going to folder List and clicking on Sharepoint folders
. Right clicking properties on the Sharepoint folders does not cause
a crash

. Following action has been taken to attempt to fix the problem
. Security has been modified to accept the sharepoint site as a
trusted site
. Detect and repair was run, and it completed successfully
. Neither option was selected, Restore my shortcuts... or Discard
my customized...
. Windows Live OneCare antivirus, firewall, antispyware were disabled
. Sharepoint folders have been closed and removed each time the
actions where taken, and the Outlook still continues to crash

Test on a clean system
. Outlook 2003 with no updates installed
. Links beautifully from the sharepoint website without any problems

I want to be able to fix this problem without losing any settings or emails
or email accounts,

Any suggestions, besides a full uninstall of outlook?

Many Thanks,

I am also having this issue. At one time I tried a complete re-install
of Outlook but that didn't work. I tried deleting the mail profile and
that seemed to work for a few weeks but BAM... it is happening again.
This is EXTREMELY frustrating.

Any solution?

Well you can try what I did the first time by deleting the mail profile
by going into the Control Panel > Mail. But I tried that this morning
and it didn't work. It did work for several weeks though.

Are you running with a wired connection or a wireless connection when
this happens? My clients internally on wire are not having any issues,
so I am curious to know if the wireless connection affects this
(communication interruption, etc).

Cheers,
Sean
