Outlook/OE6 can't Download HTML email via POP

Hello everyone,

I just set up an Exchange server to allow POP3 clients such as OE6 and
Outlook 2003.

Here's my problem:

OE6 and Outlook 2003 will no tPOP in HTML messages for some reason.
Plain text emails work fine. However, if there is an HTML message in
front of plain text emails, the POP Client (Outlook and/or OE6) time
out because it can't bring down the HTML message.

I don't think this is a problem with my Exchange server because:

#1. HTML messages reach the mailbox fine and can be viewed using the
OWA...just not POPed into OE6/Outlook

#2. Thunderbird will POP down the HTML message from my Exchange server
with no problem...

any ideas??

I found a thread on here that matches my problem to the T but it was
from 3-4 years ago and there was never any solution posted.

Enable diagnostic logging to see what's happening between the client and
server.
