Outlook not working properly

Everytime I click on a e-mail link on any webpage, I get
an error "could not perform this operation because the
defailt mail client is not properly intalled" any Ideas
on why this is happening. If I use outlook directly I got
no problems. Thx

IE's tools, options, programs - what is set as the default mail client?
Change it to something, apply, then put it back on outlook.

I got nothing on e-mail client and I try to add outlook
Express and don't let me. ??????? BTW thx for the
sugestion
