Outlook not disconnectiong

I have got a new pc which has Outlook 2003 ready installed. I am using a
dial-up connection but find that Outlook does not disconnect after
sending/receiving. I have made sure that "hang up when finished with manual
send/receive" box is checked but it still remains connected after a manual
send and receive. Was previously using Outlook 2000 which worked fine.
Any suggestions please?

No version of Outlook will manage your connection unless the connection type
for the email account in question is set to "Phone Line." Nothing else will
do.
